I have always aspired to be in the movie business(who hasn’t right?) but seriously thinking that I had the mindset and conceptualization to make a film a film and walk away happy. Though unfortunately I have not made this and even worse haven’t made much of an effort. It’s not to say it is not worth it, it’s just that life happens…as always. And I have enjoyed it. More now than ever to be quite honest. But I still feel movies and love to be emotionally involved. That’s why we watch ‘em right? That’s why we sit through pain-in-the-ass seats and outrageous ticket prices AND concession prices to enjoy the newest movie in the hottest theater!
But I love it! And you love it! Especially when you get a surprise tear jerker, or a complete underdog story just makin’ your eyes swell up. That’s when you are in. That’s when you have felt that movie. Maybe it even changed you. And whether you want to admit it, even the bad ones changed your life.
Every movie you have ever watched has played a role in some way or another. From the classic film, to the underground cult classic, to the kid-friendly flavor, and even all the way back to the spine tingling. Whatever you have seen, again, it has affected you. And I must say that myself, I have watched every movie I could handle, never turning one down. Not even on those horrible chick flick invites. To be quite honest, sometimes those come back and kick ya better than the others and you get a good laugh out of it too. I am always ready for a movie. But amongst all the laughing and all the crying and all the feel-goodery of these movies, I continue to realize new things; new lessons; new life. So watch everything you can but remember… regardless of what you think you know about movies, about film, about life…forget it. You don’t know shit. And that’s okay.
So just watch another and take it all in!
